PREGNANCY TREATMENTS

During pregnancy, your body undergoes rapid change in a relatively short period of time. These changes include an increase in blood volume, hormonal changes, weight gain, and a shift in your center of gravity, all of which impact the entire body including your muscles, ligaments and joints.

A myotherapist can help with aches, pains, lack of movement, instability and more using safe and effective treatment techniques including:

Pregnancy massage

Trigger point therapy

Passive stretching

Joint mobilisation

Gentle vacuum cupping

Dry needling techniques

We are experienced and have extra training and knowledge in pregnancy treatments and use various techniques to help with pregnancy related pain, movement restriction, stiffness, postural pain or injury.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT FROM MY FIRST CONSULTATION?

An initial Myotherapy consultation begins with a comprehensive subjective and objective assessment; going through a thorough history of your presentation, assessing structures involved through postural and functional testing. From there they will develop a treatment plan, which can include a combination of manual therapy and corrective exercises. After the treatment has concluded, they will re-assess relevant structures.

Myotherapy utilises a range of natural modalities such as -

Cupping

Dry Needling

Trigger Point Therapy

Soft Tissue Treatment/Manipulation

Joint Mobilisation

MET (Muscle Energy Technique)

Lymphatic Drainage Techniques

Strapping & Taping

Corrective Exercise
